About Us

Welcome to Chippewacab. We're glad you're here.

Who we are

Practical help for the parts of your home you can't see

Chippewacab started as a small blog built to inform homeowners about our products and services through useful, well-written articles. It has grown into a home-services team working across East Tennessee and Southwest Florida.

We focus on the systems that quietly protect a house — the septic tank and drain field, the insulation and air barrier, the bathroom's waterproofing, the trees around the roof and the foundation under it all. These are the jobs where a wrong diagnosis is expensive, and where clear explanations matter most.

We still publish guides, because an informed homeowner makes better decisions — whether or not they hire us.

What we stand for

Our values

Honest diagnosis

We explain what we found, show you photos and give you options — including the least expensive fix that will work.

Safety on every site

Confined-space rules around septic tanks, fall protection in trees and on roofs, and ventilation during spray foam work are non-negotiable.

Craftsmanship

The details you don't see — waterproofing, flashing, proper pruning cuts — are the ones we care about most.

Respect for your property

Ground protection, daily clean-up and responsible disposal are part of every job.

What we do

Five trades that work together

Water, air and roots move across trade boundaries. A clogged drain field can be caused by tree roots; a musty crawl space can make a bathroom's floor rot; poor attic air sealing can drive condensation in the basement. Working across these specialties lets us see connections a single-trade contractor might miss.

How we write our guides

Every article on our blog is written for homeowners, not search engines. Our editorial standards:

  • Practical first. We explain what you can check yourself, what needs a professional and why.
  • Honest numbers. Costs and intervals are given as approximate ranges and labeled as such, because conditions vary widely by property and region.
  • Reviewed by practitioners. Guides are reviewed by team members who perform that type of work.
  • Updated. We revisit articles when codes, products or best practices change and note the update date.
  • Safety. We never encourage dangerous DIY work such as entering a septic tank or climbing trees with a chainsaw.
